About History
In April, 2003, upon the approval of the Education Ministry of the People's Republic of China , Yangtze University , a new tertiary institution, was established upon the merger of the former Jianghan Petroleum Institute, Hubei Agricultural College , Jingzhou Teacher's College and Hubei Provincial Vocational Medical College . Renamed Jianghan Petroleum University in 1978.
Affiliated to China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC).
Authorized to run postgraduate programs since 1986.
Qualified to enroll international students since 1993.
Former Hubei Agricultural University
Its predecessor was Jingzhou Campus of Huazhong Agricultural College founded in 1977.
The school was renamed Hubei Agricultural University in 1989.
One of five key agricultural universities affiliated to Hubei Province.
Former Jingzhou Normal University
Grew from Hubei No 4 District Normal School in 1936.
Upgraded to Jingzhou Normal University in August 1999.
Started to enroll international students from countries such as Korea in 2002.
Former Hubei Medical Staff College
Grew out of Shashi Medical School founded in 1951.
Renamed Jianghan Medical College in 1958.
Jingzhou Campus of Wuhan Medical College in 1977.
Characterized with adult medical vocational education. |
